ATHENS DAY TOURS

Most first-time visitors to Greece arrive in Athens and stay at least one to two days before setting off on their bike tour.  There is much to see in the city with the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum the primary attractions.  Yet, for cyclists there is another reason to linger in the nation’s capital.  You can take one or more day long bike tours to really awesome Greek places that foreigners tend to overlook in their rush to the islands and elsewhere.

Athens lies in the Attica Peninsula which has an abundance of scenic, mostly rural bike routes.  The region is blessed with inspiring  ruins, marvelous mythology, delicious Greek food and amazing indigenous wines.   Did you know there are over 80 museums in Attica?  Have you ever thought about biking across the Corinth Canal?  Are you aware that some of Greece’s best wineries are in Attica?  Sign up for one or more of our terrific day rides to explore the untapped historic Attica region.

Athens Day Tours include a bike guide and vehicle support, except for the Historic Central Athens bike tour which is 90% car-free.  Tours accommodate up to eight riders per vehicle.  The tour cost includes vehicle transfers.  We pick you up at your central Athens hotel or your cruise ship and take you back at the end of the tour.  The vehicles carry water cooler, spare wheels, your day packs and a lift when you need one.
